The Resident Evil Veronica remake follows Claire Redfield to Rockfort Island three months after the biological disaster in Raccoon City.

According to the official Steam listing, the overarching narrative takes place three months after the devastating events in Raccoon City. Claire travels to France in search of her missing brother, Chris. Her investigation is cut short when she is captured by Umbrella special forces and transported to Rockfort Island.
The official game synopsis says that another biological disaster transforms Rockfort Island into a survival-horror setting.
The producer has stated that the remake will explore more of Claire's motivations. PlayStation Blog coverage also reports that parts of the original story will be adjusted to connect with the wider Resident Evil lore established since 2000.
